Some affiliate and CPA networks are cracking down on affiliates that advertise through MySpace and terminating affiliates that break the rules. Seems MySpace has been threatening the networks when their affiliates misbehave.

Larwee at the 5 Star forum reports that MaxBounty sent the following warning to their affiliates: “Our recent efforts working with MySpace directly has shown that too many people are breaking the rules. Coupled with the fact that MySpace expressly forbids commercial activity of any type in their terms of service, we have decided to change our position on MySpace advertising.
Effective immediately, MaxBounty’s affiliate terms and conditions will be updated to prohibit advertising of any type through MySpace accounts. This includes, but is not limited to, advertising via bulletins, comments, mail, profiles or any other area of a MySpace account. Any affiliate caught violating these terms run the risk of having their MaxBounty accounts terminated.”

Alex one of the owners of AzoogleAds over at the Digital Point Forum thread titled MySpace what the hell? asks JP of MaxBounty “I’m quite curious, have you not been contacted by MySpace about affiliates spamming there? We have been terminating affiliate accounts for spamming on myspace…”
