I remember when NetTraction started their affiliate network called AffiliateTraction and wanted me to promote it. My feeling was there were way too many networks already and unless a new network came to the table with a totally unique offering it was not worth launching.Well they have built up the network to 198 merchants and 378 affiliates. According to the press release featured offers on the network include Trump University, Blockbuster Online, Matthew Lesko, JellyBelly, Foreclosure.com, DriverLoans.com and more.

They are are selling the whole turn-key biz on eBay - starting bid $24,995. They also recently sold their AffiliateAnnouncement business to AffiliateFuture Inc. earlier this year. If I remember right it was also advertised on eBay.

So a couple things I don’t quite get… 1st why sell on eBay? We are a fairly small and tight knit community. If I were to ever sell 5 Star I wouldn’t have to resort to eBay, I would go to some of the top industry players. Second, if a company like NetTraction with lots of experience in this industry could not make a go of this business, why would someone else want to buy them?

Well maybe someone on eBay that does not ‘get’ our business will see some value. But then again if they don’t ‘get’ our business then how in the world will they make money if NetTraction couldn’t? Hmmm… I see what’s up now, I think I get it. They are selling AffiliateTraction.NET which is the network not AffiliateTraction.COM which is their main site.
