I did recruiting and promotion for the CitySearch Affiliate Program when it 1st launched a couple years ago. PartnerCentric designed the program which launched on CJ, then shortly after the very successful launch, CitySearch decided to try to manage the program in-house.

I just found out that Citysearch is closing their affiliate program at the end of September. They say they will be launching a new program in 2007. Good luck getting new affiliates! When you close a program and then re-open months later you probably won’t get any of your good affiliates back again. They will always remember that you shut down and the extra work it created for them due to pulling links and/or re-designing sites. Here is the email I just got - short and sweet.

Termination of Citysearch Affilate Program
Citysearch has elected to end its affiliate program effective September 30, 2006, and final payment will be forthcoming. We hope to launch a new program sometime in 2007.
