I’ve been getting lots of requests recently for affiliate programs that offer video ads. So I’ve been doing some research and trying to find out what programs offer them. Supposedly the ability to add rich media video is one of the reasons behind CJ’s LMI initiative, but currently I don’t see many merchants providing this ad medium. Maybe they should get started!

Anik Singal just blogged about the power of video advertising and about meeting the Christopher Knudsen, the CEO of 10SpeedMedia.com at the Affiliate Summit. They are creating an affiliate network all based on video promotions and Anik says they’re even helping their clients create the video ad!)

Anik writes: Video is King and I’m Jealous! This is funny, but even if I make a screen capture video and I never move off of a page, but just talk the whole time – I STILL get better results than a regular promotion.

I think it pretty much makes sense – TV has proven that we rather just sit there and watch something than read or even listen to it (I know that’s true with me).

Rcently over in the 5 Star Affiliate Forum Cyclops, one of members wrote: “Do you know of any affiliate programs that use videos to promote their products? I am totally over banners and although text ads do work if integrated properly I am firmly of the opinion that Video is where it’s at. ”
So if you are a merchant that offers video ads, jump in the forum and tell us about it. ;-)
