Affiliate Summit News Part 1 – Tim Storm Wins Affiliate Marketing Award
Some tidbits and rumors are starting to trickle out of Affiliate Summit and into the blogosphere. The most exciting thing I’ve heard so far is a rumor that Revenews and Jango both blogged about that someone from CJ announced that CJ has reversed their decision to make the new LMI javascript links mandatory and the old HTML legacy links won’t be put to pasture. Waiting for official confirmation from CJ. Maybe they will confirm on tomorrow’s CJ radio show on WebmasterRadio? I’ll be over in the chat room hoping they do, but I doubt it because I think the show is pre-recorded. It would be cool if they would do a ‘live’ show from the Summit!
One of my clients – Brook Schaaf is video taping the entire event plus doing tons of video interviews. So there will be lots of video to watch instead of just pics, for those of us that missed this event. Vinny Lingham is blogging live with good coverage of some of the sessions and Lisa has started her coverage of the event over at the Revenue Magazine blog. Hey Lisa find that cable. I want to see the pic of Andy Rodriguezin his straw hat!
Shawn Collins just released a press release announcing that Wayne Porter passed on his Affiliate Marketing Legend Award to Tim Storm of FatWallet. Here’s a link and a snippet:
Tim Storm Honored with the Wayne Porter Affiliate Marketing Legend Award
Tim Storm was recognized on the second day of Affiliate Summit 2006 East because of his inspirational story and impact on the affiliate marketing world dating back to the 1990’s. Storm is the owner, founder and Chief Mucky Muck of FatWallet.com, an online community and shopping resource.
Tim Storm started up FatWallet.com in 1999 as a one page listing of coupons for a handful of retailers. With the addition of a Hot Deals forum, FatWallet.com began building a community of savvy shoppers. Since its launch, FatWallet.com has grown to include over 400,000 members and over 500 affiliate program merchant partners. The site ranks by Alexa as one of the top 2000 internet properties world wide.
I’ll keep my hand on the trigger and try to report on Summit news as I find it, so this can be a central repository for all things Summit related. Can’t wait to see who the victim(s) of this year’s prank are. Hope to start getting some Summit pics. Stay tuned… more soon.
