Affiliates: Customers Buy Without Leaving Your Site – MeCommerce
GoodStorm’s ground-breaking new MeCommerce beta test will be starting this week. They have invented a new category of e-commerce called “Product Serving”. Ad serving technologies like Google, Amazon and traditional affiliate programs, allow affiliates and bloggers to present targeted products to website visitors. However the MeCommerce “Product Serving” takes it a BIG step Further. When people click a product, the product serving box lets them quickly purchase the product right there on the affiliate’s site.
Visitors do not have to link out and leave the affiliate site, but instead use an intuitive simple interface to complete transactions right there. Some affiliates wonder about switching to drop shipping or becoming a merchant themselves because they don’t want to lose their own customers from their site by linking out to the source. MeCommerce, if done right, could offer a good alternate solution, however they only sell books, DVDs and CDs right now. They will be offering a 50% revshare and since it’s “tag” (keyword) driven the developers say it does not conflict with Adsense, therefore could be used on the same page.
