Lynn Terry wrote a wake up call to all webmasters who publish content to the web - Adding Value to the Web.
Sometimes, in this business, it can be easy to forget that real people will be viewing the websites we put out there. And these people will be making their decisions based on what they see or learn from the website.
Wouldn’t it make sense, then, that the website they land on provide them with something that stands out from the rest?
Instead of building affiliate sites that look like all the other affiliate sites promoting the same products, there are a number of things you can do to increase your the value of your affiliate site.
- Allow customer reviews on your site. If you’re busy, this is a great way to allow your website visitors to add value for you.
- Provide price comparisons. While too many choices can cause problems for some visitors, adding a price comparison is providing a service to your visitors.
- Write reviews for the products. Even if you used software to build your affiliate website, there is most likely a way that you can add your own reviews.
There are a number of other ways to add value to your affiliate website, just think about what you would want to see while you’re searching for a product ;).
