We scour the net so you don’t have to! I found several important things in the Internet news today, so thought I would share a few snippets that affiliates, Internet marketers and webmasters should find 1) concerning 2) interesting 3) worth a bookmark.

1) CONCERNING - Alarming really, if you take the time to really read this and test your site. All marketers and webmasters should be aware of this potentially dangerous traffic stealing hole. Barry Schwartz over at Seroundtable.com reports:

Hijacking Search Results Through DNS Cache Poisoning
“There is a known vulnerability that came to light yesterday based on a WebmasterWorld thread named Links hijacked in search engines. It is called DNS Cache Poisoning, and can affect your search marketing campaigns, big time. What happens?” Here is a scary article with all the details from WebMasterWorld: DNS Cache Poisoning “Are you open for DNS Cache Poisoning? Are your SERPs being redirected because an attacker has compromised your DNS and is now stealing your traffic? And possibly destroying your domain in the process?”

2) INTERESTING - New Google PageRank Tool Plots PR Values Overlays On Page
“There is a DigitalPoint Forum thread named that discusses a neat PageRank tool at http://www.webmastereyes.com. The PageRank tool is different from others, in that it will enable you to plug in a URL and it will then place graphical PR bars on all the links you have on that page.”

3) WORTH a BOOKMARK - Whois.sc Changes Name To DomainTools.com
My favorite whois and domain research site just changed their name, upgraded the site and added a much easier layout that showcases all their cool tools. According to the site: “Welcome to the new DomainTools.com - same great services but a brand new domain. ‘Whois’ was a great name for a site but we are now broadening our focus. We are now a little more tool focused and a lot more domain focused. Our name change comes from a desire to let you, our visitors, understand what we do and to more effectively communicate that ‘Domain Tools’ is a place for every type of diagnostic widget related to domain names. Our new name was an easy decision.”
