I have been looking for a blogging related affiliate program to promote to monetize my new blog directory at 5 Star Blogs.com. Plus I often have affiliates on the forums looking for a blog affiliate program to promote. Well the newly launched Six Apart Affiliate Program just might fit the bill, especially with payouts as high as $129 for Movable Type sales.



Six Apart Affiliate Program – Brief Review

Although Movable Type is considered a premier weblog publishing platform for businesses, the blogosphere is largely dominated by WordPress which is free. So for this reason, I think Six Apart made a truly wise move by harnessing the power of affiliate marketing to spread the word. Above is a sample of one of the affiliate banners – there are only 8 so far and they aren’t terrbily great IMHO. The program was launched on CJ on January 12th. It is currently set up on auto approval, which in my mind is typically not a good sign. Pro-actively managed programs do a manual review of each application. So we’ll see how good the support is and how well the program converts.

Six Apart Affiliate Program Commission Structure
Movable Type: 10% for each Movable Type license (earn up to $129)
TypePad: $3 per TypePad trial subscriber
LiveJournal: 20% for each LiveJournal paid account referral (earn up to $5)
