How Honest Affiliate Marketers Leverage the FTC Guidelines in Their Favor
Now that the initial scare about the new FTC Guidelines is behind us, I see more and more affiliate marketers using disclosures creatively and to their advantage. Some smart marketers are even making the art of self disclosure fun!
If you are still wondering how to leverage the FTC Guidelines into a positive force for your business, then I think the following articles can really help.
Below the articles you’ll find my vote for best affiliate marketing disclosure.
Why The New FTC Guidelines May Become Your Best Friend “The guidelines have raised the bar, it’s true. The new killer copywriters will be as ethical as they are persuasive. Those who can rise to the occasion will succeed & thrive.”
How to Turn Affiliate Marketing Disclosure Into a Selling Point “Being completely frank with your readers about compensation can be scary, because you think people will think less of you. But in a cynical world where everyone thinks everyone else is on the take already, honesty becomes a selling point.”
Best Affiliate Disclosure – According to Linda
NOTE: Even though Lurn, Inc. receives compensation for products and services promoted in our blog posts, we always give our honest opinions, findings, beliefs, or experiences about those products and services.
I love this disclosure because it’s clear, honest and it makes no apologies. Best yet, is the way it’s written. By starting off with “even though” it makes a positive assumption that yes of course we get paid, but at the same time it almost minimizes the “get paid” part and maximizes the integrity of the information and reviews that are delivered.

I’m in my due diligent s phase of becoming an affiliate. I don’t know from nothing about this business. I do know that there are thousands of “let me teach you affiliate marketing” programs. Most want to scam you and all their sites are cookie cut, hot offers, claims to make you rich and on and on and on. Same format, same testimonials, same leading me along to wealth, then trying to get their hand in my pocket. I would like to find one or two for real honest organization that can deliver what they promise and help me launch this business venture without having to commit my pension check or my first born. Can you help? If not I apologize for taking up your time.
Respectfully,
Forrest Faught

I like to see that people are seeing this self disclosure as a positive rather than a negative. I’ve always felt that it should be.
Honesty builds trust, and when people see that you promote stuff with honesty then they will be more likely to trust you down the road.
