eBay Affiliates – New Quality Click Pricing Model Announced
The eBay Partner Network just announced a new commission payout model based on clicks instead of sales and leads. “Quality Click Pricing, is a new payout structure designed to further reward the affiliates who drive incremental transactions on eBay and who send value buyers to our sites.”
This new payout structure will simplify things over the current way affiliates are paid and affiliates who drive quality traffic will be able to earn more, while affiliates who drive low quality traffic could actually make a little less.
I had a call with the eBay team on Monday to explain the new model and the reasons for it and it sounds fair and makes sense to me. Here, from the EPN Blog is a more detailed explanation of how it all works.
What’s Quality Click Pricing?
Until now, eBay Partner Network has paid for sales and leads. With Quality Click Pricing, we will now instead pay affiliates for each click sent to an eBay site. The price paid per click will still depend on the short-term and long-term revenue of the traffic that the publisher drives to eBay, but will now also take into account the incremental value of that traffic to eBay, i.e., whether a sale happened as a direct result of the publisher’s actions. The greater the incremental revenue and the higher the expected lifetime value of the customers an affiliate sends, the higher the EPC and total earnings the affiliate will receive. Earnings Per Click (EPC) will be set daily for the previous day’s traffic.
When will these changes take place? New publishers that join the eBay Partner Network as of September 1st will be paid out under the new system. Existing publishers that joined eBay Partner Network prior to September 1st will remain on the current pricing system until October 1st, when they will begin to be paid under the new Quality Click Pricing payment structure.

I was making much more last month before they made this change. I’m going to give Amazon’s affiliate program a try because ebay is definitely scamming it’s affiliates now. If I made more per transaction and SAW how much my traffic is worth, and now ebay determines how much its worth without me seeing the transactions now….it’s obviously a rip off and I pity anybody who wastes time and money sending their traffic to ebay’s affiliate program.
