Very good news for California affiliates. The hearing on AB 178 was canceled yesterday which means we should be safe from this issue for the remainder of 2009.

Thanks to all who wrote letters and lobbied in any way. Thanks especially to the PMA, Beth Kirsch and all the other industry leaders that helped to coordinate efforts and fight this bill. Working together we CAN make a difference!

This must be stopped. If it passes in California then other states might start getting the idea. I guess before long the air we breathe will also be taxed.

Hi,

Hopefully you will guys oppose this bill in California. We in Illinois are really suffering as the state of tax us even “on the air that we breath on”. Our taxes are changing like our Midwest climates. There is almost nothing you can do online, without paying the fees!
