ADTECH Chicago 2005 News
For those who could not make this event, here are some news tidbits. Tonight Commission Junction is hosting a party. Hopefully coverage and party pics will follow. Evidently sex still sells and sexy women are helping to create a draw at some of the advertiser’s booths. “Each conference requires the ubiquitous booth babe coverage if only to reinforce the notion that ad:tech is about advertising and, in advertising, it’s well known that sex does sell.” This and more will be revealed throughout the event at the Official Adtech Blog.
On a more serious note, here is an overview of some of the main events from Businesswire.
The AD:TECH Chicago schedule includes keynote presentations from top industry executives. On the morning of Monday July 11, Manager with Interactive Marketing Innovation Ted McConnell, and Vice President with Chrysler and Jeep(R) Chrysler Group Jeffrey Bell, will address several aspects of engagement. During this keynote presentation, Ted McConnell will talk about his quest to discover and establish an industry standard, definition, and measure, arguing that interactive stands to be a winner in the future only if its strengths as a medium become visible through measurement. Co-presenter Jeffrey Bell will showcase the power of engaging consumers via Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler case studies. Later that day, Managing Director with Garage Technology Ventures Guy Kawasaki, will offer advice during a speech entitled “Rules for Revolutionary Marketers.”
On Tuesday July 12, AD:TECH is hosting a “Super Session.” During this CMO panel, moderated by event Chair Susan Bratton, attendees will hear myriad issues around integrating online/offline, reporting to the CEO, how the numbers are rolled up and which ones are the harbingers. Panelists including E-LOAN Chief Marketing Officer Catherine Muriel, Director of Purina Interactive Group, Nestle Purina PetCare Company Mike Moore, Kimpton Hotels SVP of Marketing Steve Pinetti, and Motorola Senior Director of Global Marketing Benjamin Hill, will talk about the hot new areas of opportunity as well as current problems in the industry.
Edited to add, here is a good Adtech Blog with great pictures and commentary from Christopher Keenan.
