Major Health Super Affiliate Born from 300 Million Merger
Waterfront Media and Revolution Health Network, the #2 and #3 top consumer medical information sites, have merged in hopes of knocking WebMD off it’s perch. The deal has been valued at roughly $300 million, according to Adotas.
Why do I share this on my affiliate blog? A few reasons.
Many times newer affiliates or even merchants considering an affiliate program want to see what an affiliate site looks like. Many have a perception that affiliate sites are like the small Mom and Pop site, or even worse the stereotypical ugly banner farm. So here’s a news story you can share about some fairly big companies that are affiliates and also show examples of some of their sites (below). According to Adotas the companies have affiliate agreements with Drugstore.com and others.
Additionally, I know many affiliates that are in various health niches. And some of the sites below are VERY busy social sites with community features, forums and blogging features. Revolution Health is my favorite site for medical condition and medication research for my family’s health problems. If I had a health affiliate site I would definitely have a blog there for exposure. “According to comScore, the newly formed company will have more than 20 million unique users and will be the market leader in audience reach for 23 health conditions.”
Also a few of the Waterfront Media sites have affiliate programs. In fact, the AMWSO affiliate management team used to run several of them.
Here are just a few of the sites they will jointly own. Waterfront Media properties include EverydayHealth.com, Drugs.com, SouthBeachDiet.com (has affiliate program) and JillianMichaels.com (has affiliate program). Revolution’s network has some great health social networks, forums and user generated health blogs including: RevolutionHealth.com, HealthTalk.com and CarePages.com
