I have been reading with interest news about the possible purchase of Claria (formerly Gator) by Microsoft. See my “Gator” cartoon below. I applaud David Coursey for just plain laying it on the line. eWeek - Microsoft’s Adware-Company Buy Would Reward Deception. His quotes below:

“Opinion: By buying online marketer Claria, Microsoft would be rewarding people who steal advertising revenue from others’ Web sites… People who invest in socially irresponsible (or reprehensible) companies should not be rewarded. The people responsible for Gator created a business designed to steal advertising revenue from other people’s Web sites…”
