eFrontier has a great graph tracking the average PPC cost per click by category, monthly so far this year.

Average CPC Trend by Category - “CPCs have increased since December in all of the categories tracked except automotive. CPCs for mortage & auto finance advertisers were 21% and 32% higher respectively in May 2008 than in December 2007.”
