Walton Web Law on New York Affiliate Tax - Podcast
I need to run back to the hospital, so don’t have time to blog everything I promised after yesterdays panel discussion on Webmaster Radio about the NY affiliate tax issue. So here is one of the things I wanted to pass on. Wade Tonkin let me know yesterday he did a podcast interview with Clarke Walton of Walton Web Law about the tax issue. I’ve not had a chance to even listen to the podcast yet, but wanted to be sure my readers know about it.

Linda
we had an hr long call with the IAB public policy group regarding the tax and its spreading. it is looking like it could not only spread state wise, but all forms of media that are performance driven. online and traditional. its getting stranger and more complex. Affiliate marketing is just the tip of the iceberg.
I am going to get some more info together and post on RelevantlySpeaking ASAP. We will now have a stead stream of info coming from the IAB committee. Who is taking this matter very seriously!
The call stressed how VIP it is that everyone in media get involved and spread the word.

Thanks so much Peter for taking the initiative to spearhead discussions with the IAB. It’s encouraging to hear they are taking it seriously and getting involved. Keep us posted.
