Rash of Insurance Affiliate Programs Closing in the UK
Insurance Daily.co.uk reports that a string of UK affiliate programs are closing or have recently closed due to the credit crunch. According to the article, RBS announced May 2nd that it is closing its Privilege Home Insurance affiliate program and Virgin Money, without notice, stopped offering their car, home, pet and travel Insurance products. Other insurance companies that have recently closed their affiliate programs include Sheila’s Wheels, First Alternative and Click4Group. Lloyds TSB and Norwich Union also reportedly began downsizing their affiliate marketing campaigns.
I hope this isn’t a sign of things to come here in the US. Financial lead based programs are the core revenue earners for many top affiliates I know. Mortgage loan affiliate programs are suffering right now, hopefully insurance affiliate programs aren’t next on the list.

If there’s only one company who close its affiliate programs, it’s not a news. But it seems that the closing are done by some companies in the UK. It’s started become a trend. Could it be a sign that insurance programs in the UK are not interested anymore ?
