Google Adsense Ruining my Blog?
Someone put THEIR Google Adsense ads on MY blog and I dont think I like it! I guess it’s the new Adsense for Feeds. It’s a pretty cool trick actually to have your Adsense ads go out with your blog syndication, and show up on someone else’s site. One of the ads is for an MP3 Toolbar (probably full of spyware) and there are about a zillion Bloggers ads all over my page. Does Google allow zillions of ads on one page?
I understand that this company must feel that if I am displaying their content, through syndication, then I (or my readers) should pay for it. But if I wanted ADS all over my blog, I would have joined Adsense myself. Actually I tried once and they turned me down.
But now the ads are all over one of my pages and someone else is getting paid??? Does this make sense? Would Google appreciate this? See how tacky the page looks. I NEVER would have put all those ads between each post. Should I pull their blog or is the content so valuable I should keep it, ads and all?

Welcome to Adsense for Feeds. I’m not sure how Google would feel about this. I mean, Google did create the adsense for feeds program, so theoretically, they probably approve. They must have considered the fact that feeds don’t just get read in feed readers, but are also syndicated to be displayed on other people’s websites.
On the one hand, someone who is using RSS feeds now has the ability to earn income from the feeds. Before…you took the chance of having people never going to your site (where they would see ads), because those people were simply reading you via their feed readers. Now, no matter where people read the articles, they see ads.
That’s a good thing. (in general, if you like the idea of ads at all). Of course, it does look funny on someone else’s site. A feed reader is one thing, but this is another ball of wax. I guess it all comes down to whether you want to show that other person’s ads or not. I probably would not. I would find another source that comes without ads and use it instead.

Hi Donna,
Thanks for the comments. I remember hearing about the Adsense for Feeds program and thinking it sounded like a good thing. But I didn’t read about it in detail and also have not seen the ads displayed until now. Even if I had, it’s quite another thing when you see other people’s ads on your site all of a sudden. Took me by surprise, so I decided to blog and see what others think. Thanks for sharing. Feel free to comment any time! See you on the boards

I think the feed add thing looks overdone and SPAMlike. I don’t think that is Googles’ intention for their program. You should feel free to remove feeds that take advantage of a good thing. Just a thought.
