San Diego Wild Fires Update
Quick update… I’m in this blessed tiny little protected pocket. Just one little circle of blue sky and relatively little smoke - but sometimes it’s still hard to breathe. My family stayed last night and now extended family that just got evacuated from new danger areas are staying with me too.
It’s getting pretty crowded here, but I’m so happy I can provide a safe haven. We’re helping to open one of our local churches to turn into evacuation center. Then I’m going to Costco to buy a bunch of food and supplies to donate to all the displaced victims, then we are all going over to volunteer.
The Witch fire, the one closest to us blew west almost to the coast, BUT now is starting to blow back this way and double back on itself. The wind is picking up again and is supposed to remain high all day. Power transformers are still blowing all over so I could still lose power or Internet. So wanted to give a quick update while I can. So I’ll be back in touch when I can.

Glad you’re doing well. I just got back home after spending a few days evacuated, but I was lucky enough to be able to stay in Clairmont with my mother. It’s such a relief seeing the winds die down at last.

I think it is great everything that you and your company have been doing to help out the residents of San Diego. Seeing as our (Travature.com) Sorrento Valley office has been shut down our team compiled a San Diego fire mashup to help the residents of San Diego.
Our site contains the interactive KPBS Google fire map, a constantly updating news stream and blog (from KPBS, the Los Angeles Times, Nate Ritter, and The Union Tribune), as well as up to the minute Flickr user photographs, and Youtube streaming videos of the fire.
We hope it is of use the our fellow residents. Take good care San Diego.
