There is a government movement afoot that could affect not only affiliates that market health and nutrition products - but could even prevent us from PERSONALLY using all types of natural health products. I’m a big “Health Food Advocate” and believe in and utilize many forms of alternative medicine including chiropractic and nutritional supplements, so this concerns me.

Jason Moffat a SUPER affiliate has a big article with in-depth resources on the issue - he writes:

“Anything used in any system of medicine may now be regulated as a drug or medical device by the FDA. This includes a biofeedback machine, acupuncture needles, a cup of herbal tea, massage oil, a glass of vegetable juice or even a bottle of water.”

“…if a person decides to produce and sell raw vegetable juice for use in juice therapy to promote optimal health… [and] if the juice therapy is intended for use as part of a disease treatment regimen instead of for the general wellness, the vegetable juice would also be subject to regulation as a drug under the Act.”

FDA Regulators Using Legal Trickery to Kill Alternative Procedures and Products
“The FDA is using legal maneuvering to end your access to natural health products (like vitamins, minerals and herbs) and natural health therapies of all sorts. Again. This time, their ploy is to declare the therapies are “Medicine” so any non-physician who uses them will be practicing medicine without a license. Since these practices are “Medicine”, any products used would be untested drugs and therefore forbidden.”

People have until April 30, 2007 to make comments on the docket available at the FDA. Anyone who is interested in getting involved should contact their representative in congress.
